Harbor view:
This is a picture I'm proud of. I always wanted to take some night scenes of the harbor - or of the city lights at night from afar. Even the slight angle gives it a contoured look and sort of reminds me of how people at times feel when they're on a boat (or ship). The reflection of the boats on the water's surface, plus the distant lights of the pier and beyond in the horizon. Add to that the clouds from a relatively rainy night and the scene looks almost surreal. Wow... can't believe I actually took this.
I just never got the chance to try taking such pictures - that is, until this evening. Barbie had a dinner to attend to at Sofitel, and I would normally balk at the possibility of having to go there on a Monday evening - but this evening was a holiday, so I was relatively well rested, aside from just going to Greenhills this afternoon - I was just home the entire day. since I knew I would be waiting for Barbie as she had her dinner, I planned for the evening with my reading materials (comics) and camera plus tripod - for those long exposure shots I wanted to experiment with. Only problem - if ever, would be the weather.
So, when Barbie said, it was time to go - I grabbed my camera bag, made sure I did not forget the Gorilla tripod and literally flew out the door - eager to drop her at Sofitel so I could set up my evening photo shoot. The rest, as they say is luck, and skill.
