Cuenca Visit (finally):
This visit was planned with the intent of celebrating our August celebrators - namely, Li on the 4th; Bing bing on the 12th and Patty on the 21st. But it was only at this particular time (thanks to the upcoming long weekend) that we got to finally visit.
Planning a trip to Batangas isn't that easy - and aside from the obvious need to go there on a two hour drive, there's the need to consider toll fees, and other things needed to be brought there - like the boxes mama asked me to get from Fred, plus the extension wire... and other items too many to mention.
Of course, once there, we could expect foods galore - in this case, mama's callos (of which I ate three servings of), barbecue and chicken - not to mention the mangoes, tomato, onion salad (a.k.a. enchiladas) - capped off with some chocolate cake and barako coffee. We talked, caught up with what was happening with each other, and I was glad to see mama able to walk about - looking strong.
Apparently, her medication is doing her good, and I'm glad to see that. We left around 5pm - a bit late for our usual departure - got caught in a really strong downpour in the South Expressway - forcing me to slow down and use flashers and hi beam lights - with still little visibility of the vehicle up front.
Still, we got to Manila in good time - in fact, time enough to go hear a 7pm mass in Mary the Queen. So over all, it was a good trip. Next trip will most likely be during the Christmas holidays.
