This is a rare picture indeed - Fiel captured in a situation that does not show him pouting or frowning... and the obvious reason for it is what's in front of him... an affogato, which is basically a scoop of gellato with a shot of espresso (boy, all these Italian terms and their non-conformance to English spelling).
We were introduced to this concoction by one of Fiel's past students... who mentioned the added fact that aside from it looking interesting enough, it could be had (with one piece of biscotti) for the same price as a Starbucks coffee. In this case, we get the coffee - plus some really great ice cream too.
