This scene of fallen trees at the Campus One parking lot, was eerily duplicated in may parts of the Metro - both during, and after the storm passed us by (and to think that it did not even hit Metro Manila directly!)
Yup. This was one of the many reasons why it was a bit hard to travel yesterday. Trees were uprooted - or (as in this case) snapped from their trunk by the fierce winds of the storm. I brought with me a gold umbrella - but opted not to open it, for fear it would break.
Well, today was clean up time, and many of these trees had to be cut down to more manageable sizes to be properly disposed of. Too bad - after all, these trees do offer shade (at the very least). I wish there was a way to prevent such damage... but nature's capriciousness can't be contained - and we just have to move on.
